You probably just have a bad connection somewhere but a fully charged battery should read at least 12.6 volts. 12.09 is a weak battery and may not test properly with an ARBST machine. When running you should have at least 13.8 volts at the battery terminals and 14.2 is ideal. Any wide variance from that, high or low, is not good. I helped build alternators for 4 years and batteries for 2 at a GM plant.
