can you easily disable your alarm? id try that...
but 12v at batter terminals means almost nothing. its amps that drive it, while the battery may say 12V with no load it my drop way below that with a load(ie starting) and not have enough amps to start the car.
make sur ethe cables are tight on the battery and good grounds etc. when i was messin with my chevette when i first got it i had the battery in the car and the domelight was pretty bright yet when i tried to start it nothing... so i tightened the battery terminals even snugger and walla! fired right up. they can work themselfvs loose with time and not much you can do about it...
