well... I jumped the solenoid and got it to start. So the starter and battery are good. Going to drive it home tonight and work on it there.
That makes it something between the key and the starter. I'm thinking its one of three things. Starter kill for the alarm (easily bypassed), Neutral position switch (what I hope it is) or the fuseable link.
we'll see how it goes when I get home.
