Because of the interference design of the 1.8 liter, be sure to replace the TIMING BELT. Some guy on ebay learned the hard (and expensive) way.
"The car had a timing belt failure, it was taken to a local garage for repair, the timing belt was replaced but one or more of the valves may have bent when the timing belt failed, because when the engine was started it broke one of the caps that hold the rocker arm assembly in place."
Aside from what you mentioned, you may want to replace some gaskets (thermostat, water pump, etc.)
