Call whichever parts store before you take your old one off and make sure they have a "new" one instead of a rebuilt one in stock. Rebuilt ones could have been rebuilt many times and just be rebuilt too many times already. After all the last Chevette was built over 20 years ago. Get a new one and you should be fine. Most new ones are built by the same company regardless what name is on the box.
