ok im gonna tell you how i bleed my brakes and you guys tell me if its right or not.
ok i go RR LR RF LF. i start by makign sure the parking brake is off. I then open the lid of the master cylynder. Then i put one of those "one man brake bleeders" over the end of the bleeder screw(just a magnetic bottle filled with brakefluid, does the same thing as putting a piece of tube over the bleeder screw and submerging it into a bottle). i then open the bleeder screw maybe 1 turn.
i go and pump the pedal somewhat fast 5 or 6 times then check the level in the master. i then go 5 or 6 more times and on the last push in, i hold it. i then wedge a piece of wood so the brake pedal stays pushed fully in. i look and see if i can see any bubbles comming out. if not i then tighten the bleeder screw and pull the hose off. Then release the pedal.
repeat that 3 times
the reason i am asking is because it seems as if every time i bleed it the pedal acts normal but then a week later it gets all spongy and crappy feeling.
now what i noticed is while i was pumping the pedal, if i pushed in and released and immediately pushed in again it felt liek it wasnt connected to anything until the last 2-3" of pedal travel. if i waited after releaseing 2- 3 seconds i could feel light resistance(pushing on the fluid) all the way thru the travel, not just the bottom of travel.
Is that a sign that the master cylynder is bad?
is it caused because fluid is leaking behind the piston causing it slow to retract? cuz the pedal itself immediately comes back up but it seems (what i think is happening, dunno i fits true) is the acual piston in the cilynder is retracting slow. i havent messed with many brake systems let alone one with manual brakes.
any input is very much welcomed.
