Chevette rear defroster information ( provided by Alex Quirk )
I recently found a dash panel of the correct color containing the rear defroster switch to go along with my rear defroster hatch that I will be installing some day. ( Installed ! ) In my haste however, I neglected to pay any attention to the wiring behind the panel, and didn't acquire anything other than the panel. ******

The 4 wires are: 3 for the turn-on and OFF of the time-delay
(heavy-duty) relay and the other is for the internal pilot light
indicator on the switch to tell you when the relay turns on and
off...
You probably still need the defogger timer-relay unit to set this
up correctly...
On the Relay unit:
A - goes to the defogger grid (ALL through large gauge wire
probably #12, purple/white into black wire) AND to the C
(smaller purple/white, #18?) of the switch for the pilot light
B - goes to B of the switch(light blue wire)...and controls both
ON by switching to (A) +12VDC(through the Ignition Switch) and
OFF by Grounding to (D)of the switch
C - feeds to +12VDC through a heavy gauge supply wire(probably at
least #12 orange wire) to a (30A in most GM uses) circuit breaker
then onto(red wire) a fusible link that connects with other
fusible links on the BIG terminal of the starter solenoid (MAIN
feed)
D - goes to D of the switch and a ground under the dash panel
(all black wire)
E - goes to A (pink/black wire)of the switch and then onto
(pink/black wire) the gauges fuse(20A)feed..a good feed point
might be the pink/black wire to the seat belt timer/buzzer...
I told you that you didn't want to hear this...Alex
