1982 Diesel Chevette
with a super fancy interior.

Got an email from a Mr. James Montgomery the other day. It seems he had found a Diesel Chevette on the AutoTrader website that he thought I might be interested in. As a further stroke of luck, the car is only thirty minutes away from me. I called the owner, and set up an appointment to view the car. It seems that the car had been in the family since it was new, and from the glowing description I received on the phone, it appeared that I was going to view the "cream puff" I have been searching for. Unfortunately for me, the asking price was a stratospheric $1200 !! Way out of my league. Still, to see this "almost rust free" "only one dent" car, and oh, it doesn't start, the starter is out of it  ( I wonder, is the starter out of it, or did the timing belt break, locking up the engine ) ....should be quite a thrill.

I thought........ . In any event, here is the car.vet_1200_1.jpg (48433 bytes)

Just a dent...........

Now, on to the the real shame of the whole thing. This car has the very rare deluxe interior, and it is in above average condition.

The car also has a factory AM/FM stereo radio with rear speakers, rear defroster, and tilt steering column.

The extremely nice owner with her 1982 Diesel Chevette. 5spd manual transmission, deluxe interior, tilt steering column, rear defogger, factory AM/FM stereo radio.

Car is extremely rusty underneath, but doesn't have any holes "yet". At least I didn't poke to hard on the floors to find out. From the looks of the car, and the mouse houses under the hood, I would say this car has been sitting for many years. The front wheels are also BADLY cambered in at the top.

I'm still looking for that cream puff.............
